Grant support for AI technology developers is provided by the Innovation Promotion Fund (IPF).
IPF holds competitions "Start-AI", "Development-AI", "Commercialization-AI", "Acceleration-AI" and "Code-AI". They involve projects in priority areas - computer vision, natural language processing, intelligent decision support systems, advanced AI methods.
In 2021, 162 projects were selected as part of the Start-AI-1, Start-II-2, Development-AI, and Commercialization-AI competitions, of which 143 received grant support. As part of the Code-AI competition, 15 developers of open libraries were supported. In addition, 37 projects took part in the acceleration program.
In 2022, 144 AI projects were supported by grant funding in the amount of 761.39 million rubles. 16 projects were funded to develop open libraries in the amount of 56.5 million rubles, as well as 105 projects to participate in the acceleration program in the amount of 83.1 million rubles.
New competitions have also been launched:
- "Introduction-AI" to support the implementation of AI solutions developed by small businesses (grants in the amount of up to 50 million rubles);
- "Anti-crisis-AI" to support enterprises planning to refine or scale their own solutions in the field of AI, and bring them to new markets (grants of up to 30 million rubles).
Contest "Commercialization-AI" — support of small enterprises with a positive business reputation, which plan to implement their own products in the field of AI;
Contest "Development - AI" —support of the enterprises with positive business reputation and experience in sales of knowledge-intensive products;
"Acceleration-AI" competition — creation of new and support of existing small businesses seeking to develop new products using AI;
"Code-AI" contest — creation of new and development of existing open libraries in the field of AI;
Contest “Startup-AI” — creation of new and support of existing small enterprises in the field of AI.
